Gorizia is ready to welcome the
World Folklore Festival. The 51st edition of the event,
scheduled until Sunday, August 27, will officially begin
tomorrow with international groups from Senegal, South Korea,
Italy, Mexico, Moldova, Portugal, Chile-Easter Island, and
Spain-Canary Islands.
A roundup of traditions, costumes, and music will color the
Isonzo capital from tomorrow evening when the fire of friendship
will be lit after a concert by the vocal group Freevoices.
This program will be followed by a welcome performance with
local folk groups: Santa Gorizia, Danzerini from Lucinico, and
Michele Grion from Capriva. On Sunday, the festival deserves a
grand finale, from 10 am until evening, starting in Transalpina
Square, with a performance by the Goriški Pihalni Orkester from
Nova Gorica.
