The second tube of the Frejus road
tunnel will open in the second half of the year, French
Transport Minister Patrice Vergriete said at his bilateral
meeting with Transport Minister Matteo Salvini at the G7 in
Milan Friday.
At the meeting, Salvini expressed the hope that "rail traffic,
at least of goods, can be restarted as soon as possible".
On the subject of the high-speed rail (TAV) link being built
between Turin and Lyon, on the other hand, "the agreement to
proceed with the progress of the work" was announced, with 12.5
billion allocated.
The ministers then addressed the issue of the Mont Blanc Tunnel,
for which Salvini asked to "conduct joint studies to limit the
inconvenience of the work".
