The level of alert at potential
Israeli targets in Italy has been maximum for some time,
independently of recent events in the Middle East, Italian
police chief Vittorio Pisani said responding to the news of
possible Iranian reprisals following the Israeli strike in
Damascus that killed several pasdaran leaders.
"The level of alert on Israeli targets in Italy has been maximum
for some time, independently of the latest events," Pisani said
on the sidelines of a conference at public broadcaster Rai.
"There are, then, contingent measures that are adopted on the
basis of information activity.
For example, in the past, in a particular period, the Israeli
embassy in Italy was actually closed".
