(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 7 - A solution that is sustainable for all
countries involved is needed on the migrant issue, Chancellor
Olaf Scholz's spokesman said on the eve of a visit to Rome to
see Premier Giorgia Meloni Thursday, a meeting at which migrants
will top the agenda.
"On migrants the point is to find a common, positive and
sustainable solution for all and this is what has been engaging
European countries for months", said Steffen Hebestreit,
responding in Berlin to the question of whether Italy is among
the countries that do not register migrants, ahead of Thursday's
bilateral between Scholz and Meloni in Rome.
Scholz has already said that, without naming any countries,
Hebestreit added, it is clear that at Europe's external borders
"some registration does not take place, but that is not the
issue at stake now".. (ANSA).
