Treble-seeking Manchester City is
stronger than Champions League Final rival Inter Milan but the
Nerazzurri deserve their place in Saturday's continental
championship shoot-out, manager Simone Inzaghi said Monday.
"City will find an opponent who deserve to play in Istanbul in
the final. We will meet the strongest team in the world that in
the last six years has won the Premier five times, which is the
most competitive league, and has always gone deep in the
Champions League," Inzaghi said at the media day of next
Saturday's Champions League final.
"We will have to be careful to compete as a team because we know
we will be facing the best, with a fantastic squad and a coach
who has marked an era. There is a before and an after (Pep)
Guardiola, certainly it will be a very important match for us."
Inzaghi said he would wait until the last minute to decide
whether to start Edin Dzeko or Romelu Lukaku against the Premier
League and FA Cup champions.
He said there were still four training sessions in which he
could assess the relative merits of the Bosnia captain and the
Belgium centre forward.
Inzaghi also cited other supersubs who he had used throughout
the season: Brozovic, Skriniar, Correa and Calhanoglu.
