There was a fresh evacuation from
Ischia's red zone Friday amid an orange weather alert after
storms caused a landslide that claimed 12 lives on the Gulf of
Naples island last month.
Emergency commissioner for the affected town of Casamicciola,
Simona Calcaterra, said that this time the order to leave homes
is "more decisive and pressing", and is not optional.
She was speaking amid reports that several people are unwilling
to leave their homes despite the alert.
