(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 6 - Former Italian Premier Massimo D'Alema
and Alessandro Profumo, the CEO of defence giant Leonardo, are
under investigation in a case regarding the sale of aircraft,
submarines and ships to Colombia, sources said on Tuesday.
Police executed a warrant issued by Naples prosecutors to search
the Rome homes and offices of Profumo and D'Alema in relation to
the case, the sources said.
They also searched premises linked to Giuseppe Giordo, a former
executive for shipbuilder Fincantieri, and D'Alema's accountant
Gherardo Gardo.
The deals being probed, including the sale of M346 fighter jets,
are worth a total of over four billion euros, the sources said.
In total eight people are under investigation for alleged
aggravated international corruption. (ANSA).
