Italian police on Tuesday night
arrested 13 local far-right militants in Verona suspected of
attacking revelling Moroccan fans feting their historic World
Cup win over Spain by hitting their cars with chains and sticks,
clad in black hoodies and clothes, and causing damage to four
vehicles as well as slightly injuring a young woman who was hit
by the flying shards of broken windows.
The 13 young far-rightists have been charged with damaging
property and injuring people after their violent assaults on the
fans' cars that were driving around the centre of the Veneto
city after Morocco qualified for the World Cup quarter-finals
for the first time with a victory on penalties over 2010 world
champs Spain.
