The European Commission is ready to
give the incoming Italian government the time it needs to
present its budget plans for 2023, EU sources said on Thursday.
"An election in a member State is a routine event for those who
deal with fiscal-policy management," the source said.
"A government will be formed in Italy and the EU is ready to
wait all the time that is necessary".
It could take several weeks for a new government to take power
even though the centre-right coalition, spearheaded by Giorgio
Meloni's Brothers of Italy (FdI) party, registered a clear
victory in Sunday's general election.
