Carabinieri police cleared a way
through Naples notoriously chaotic and log-jammed traffic for
the parents of a one-year-old boy who had suffered a cardiac
arrest in what they described as a "Christmas fairy tale" that
ended in a life-saving procedure Thursday.
The toddler's parents dashed into their car when they found
their son unconscious but were soon snarled among the cars
packing the southern Italia city.
They began shouting for help and were heard by the cops who
immediately sprang into action and cleared their path to the
nearest hospital where the boy was saved by a heart massage.
"The doctors said he would have died if he had arrived a minute
later," said the relieved parents, adding "it has really been a
Christmas fairy tale ending".
